All Cities around the world are prepared to welcome the New
Year, from traditional ceremonies in Japan to fireworks displays in Dubai, Sydney,
Edinburgh and Rio de Janeiro, London.
At 6 a.m. ET, Auckland, New Zealand, became first major city to start in 2019 with
fireworks erupting from Auckland's Sky Tower. Thousands of revelers on the
waterfront cheered as they watched brightly colored fireworks and laser
lighting shoot into the sky over the city's harbor.
Sydney has welcomed 2019 in spectacular style with a huge
fireworks display from the world-famous harbour.
The fireworks showed over the iconic harbour bridge and CBD
to a worldwide audience of millions as the city and the rest of Australia
partied into 2019.
