SUPREME COURT RESTRICTS THE DETAILS OF RAPE CASE VICTIMS TO BE MADE PUBLIC, EVEN AFTER DEATH

SC  bench headed by Justice Madan B Lokur has directed the print and electronic media, not make sensational news and disclouse the details of rape victims.

In the recent years, the Supreme court has found many cases where the details of the rape victim were discloused, like Asifa the minor victim of Kathua rape case.

 Many electronic media channels taken their sensational interviews after the pain and sexual assault that the victims were gone through.

The SC court said it is “unfortunate” that rape victims are treated as “untouchables” in society.


The Top court order the police that FIR’s related to rape case and sexual assault, even against minors should not be encloused in public doamin’s.
